TheMotorBookstore.com wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Motorcycle Shopper magazine. And even though the printed magazine ceased printed publication back in 2000, it's still around as a free buy, sell, trade classified ad website for motorcycles and ATV, parts and accessories.MotorcycleShopper.com was launched "officially" in May of 1997, but the site started life a couple of years earlier hosted as a subdomain of another site, thanks to some friends who helped us get our web presence established.
During the life of Motorcycle Shopper magazine, we published several excellent articles, and many of them were uploaded to the website. Those articles can be accessed through the Motorcycle Shopper Article Database.
Two of the most popular series were HowTo Build a Honda CB/CL 450-500T Vintage Roadracer and How To Build a Yamaha 2-Stroke Twin Vintage Roadracer by Jim Reed. These articles were very popular and we had to reprint them in book form. At about the same time, the web store was being launched and so they were first available through MotorcycleBooks.com, which would become TheMotorBookstore.com a few years later.
Inspired by the first Honda Vintage Roadracer series of articles, Eric Kalamaja wrote another popular series, How To Build a Honda CB350 Vintage Road Racer.
Maybe one of these days we'll reprint some of these articles in book form, and make them available again through TheMotorBookstore.com ... you never know!
