The summers are not limited to big film releases but our own Hyderabadi films are also queuing up to cater to the local demand. ‘Ja Bhai Jaa' is another flicker that is going to be released in the April.
The film revolves around the burning issue of Dowry and goondaism, and is directed by Sanjay Punjabi and written by Salman Hyder, the writer who scripted the Gullu Dada, and Half fry.
The main character of the film ‘Muskaan' (Zareen ali) is a lecturer, who stays along with her brother, a school teacher and her sister in law (bhabhi), a semi literate. Though educated many proposals gets rejected after the family fails to meet the dowry demand.
Some how Muskaan gets engaged to a boy but even this proposal does no end in marriage; the boys' family demands a dowry of Rs. 5 lakh, a week before the marriage. Unable to meet the demand the family cancels the marriage.
The bad times does not end for the family here, the family stays in a rented ‘Haveli' for the past many decades, but does not have to ability to shift even after repeated appeals of the house owner ‘Chowdhary', unable to bear anymore the house owner hires one noted goon of the city.
The character of the Goon is played by Adnan Sajid Khan, who moves in the same house as a tenant and starts harassing the family to get the tenants vacated. His activities bring a bad name to the household and compound the problems of Muskaan and her family.
“How the problems end, how Muskaan fights all odds is the climax of the story, but it has a happy ending” says Salman Hyder, the scrip writer of the film. Abdul Aleem, the producer of the film says, “The film has a message for the society and people can connect themselves with the film.”
“The film is about dowry issues and about a girl who fights all odds; she turns out to be an example for the people and all girls,' says K.B. Jani, who plays a character of ‘Hekhla.'
